Part 1 What you need to do is clone your old, if it is working, on to the new drive. The hard drive manufacturer will usually have free cloning software which you can download from their web site. In your case take out the new drive and reinstall the old drive in your computer. Then download the cloning software. Before running connect the new drive to an external USB to SATA cable (fairly cheap to purchase) and plug it into your USB port - USB 3.0 being faster than USB 2.0. Once done run the cloning software so your old drive is cloned to the new drive. IMPORTANT - take your time to make sure you aren’t cloning the new drive to the old but rather cloning the old drive to the new one. Once done try booting up with the new drive connected to the USB port - go into BIOS to boot from this. If all goes well then take out the old drive and install the new drive into your computer. Done. Now you can use the old drive for backups with the USB to SATA adapter cable. Part 2 If the “new” drive is from another machine that won’t work. The Windows 10 installation is for the other computer that you got the hard drive from. The drivers, etc. will be different and so black screen. You need to do a fresh install from a USB flash drive. Do you have another computer or a friends that you can do this from? You can donwload the installation files from Microsft’s web site as explained here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/wind
