everything but the screen works, for example it still gives me notifications and i still get phone calls, It can also turn on by touch. the only problem with my screen is that its completely black and i was wondering if i could replace the screen or if there is anyway i could fix it myself.
you most likely short circuited the screen when you got it wet. It will need to be replaced but first I would strongly recommend running the phone through a process designed to eliminate all the water and clean the connectors from corrosion otherwise other parts will start failing. HTC One M8 screens are incredibly difficult to replace as they use very strong glue and the rear of the phone must be taken off to replace the screen. I would recommend having a repair shop do the work - one that has a lot of HTC phone experience.
