So I was replacing my o led screen and I cut my ribbon/flex cable connected to my o led screen with metal scissors there was a very minute spark. Before I stared replacing my broken black screen I could hear the sounds made when switching on the iPhone. I could I could hear ringer sounds as well. I even managed to use Siri with my broken screen by holding the on/off button. After I cut the cable the phone went dead, I am pretty sure I only cut the o led ribbon cables and didn’t damage surrounding things, the phone suddenly became unresponsive, no sounds at all . The battery was also charged so it wasn’t dead either, I connected it the phone to my laptop as well and it was still dead. I tried force restarts as well. What could it be I didn’t short a circuit or fried my logic board. Also is there anyway I could at least recover my pictures and documents. My phone wasn’t backed up either.
If you cut the display cable before disconnecting the battery you most likely have damaged some components on the logic board, especially if you saw a spark. There are a lot of power rails running through that flex and if they connected to each other through the scissors you would have defiantly damaged something. You data should be able to be retrieved but I would suggest sending it to a reputable repairer unless you have the equipment and experience to diagnose and repair the faulty component as you need the phone to boot to get a path to data.
