Hi guys! So I have a problem with my Macbook. Some sensors think that the temps are 128°C so the fans running at 6200RPM and the Mac is really slow. I already wrote about this once here, I took it to a professional service where it was for about 4 months, they replaced a lot of chips and others on the Logic board but nothing solved the problem. So I looked for a new logic board, found one for about 100$, I bought it, brought home my Macbook, replaced the logic board and guess what, it does the same problem. I tried disconnecting everything from the logic board (hdd, superdrive, keyboard, trackpad, etc.) and jump started the logic board but does the same thing. What do you recommend what should I try? You should run ASD (Apple Service Diagnostics) on these and find out which sensors are going bad. Though with sensor issues they are usually a PITA to fix and in most cases end up chasing a rabbit hole that you’ll never find. For example some diagnosing done board-level on this thread: https://boards.rossmanngroup.com/forum/b… Most of these sensor faults are SMC related and require high level micro-soldering to fix. A lot of boards you can buy online are usually either refurbished or working (liquid damaged before) but with some quirky problem like that. Some can be fixed by replacing the SMC (reballing them is required) but working (programmed) SMCs can only be taken from other logic boards as new SMCs don’t have programming on them. The SMC, short for System Management Controller is responsible for controlling most of the logic circuits on the logic board like sensors and power rails on the logic board.
