Hello! I have water damaged MacBook pro (a little). When it happened, I was flip over my laptop immediately and take it to some repair center. I’ve waited for 3 days. Fortunately, my MacBook is alive! Everything is fine. But laptop can’t work with the battery. I saw a login screen, then my laptop shut down. But it working fine without battery (only AC). However, I don’t have time anymore, I took it back. I want to order a new battery and replace it later. I worked 1 day, and my laptop was fine with AC. But today my laptop shut down randomly (3 times). Here are my questions: SMC reset will be helpful? Maybe the battery is fine (i’m not sure, water was in touch bar area). May I plug in the battery and do reset SMC?While I’m waiting for a new battery, may I reset SMC without the battery?Laptop work with battery a few seconds. Is it mean charging circuit troubles? P.S. Sorry for my English)

Then you have a deeper problem than just needing a new battery. You’ll need to either take the logic board out to properly clean it or bring it into an independence shop so they can try to fix it. I’m suspecting you have corrosion damage.
