I have the following issue on MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012 AirPort indeed on my network I have the 2,4 and the 5 GHz working on the same SSID and Mac? Usually get stuck because this connection get better if I stop the 5GHz. Guess the matter is on the channel choice.
@tobia Think of it this way I have two friends both call Bill. One is better at cooking so I yell out Bill, but the other one answered! This gets into your AP names you’ve assigned for each band as well as what your given system has for its AP hit list. So lets say your AP’s name is ACME, so I would ACME_2-4 and ACME_5-0 for each band. Then I would go into the WiFi settings (you’ll need to unlock the settings to edit it). I would start my deleting any networks you are not going to use again. Then move the AP you prefer that your system connect to and I would add a second one (the other ACME AP) making sure they are at the top of the list in your preferred order. Then add your other locations in the order you are most likely connect (top three/four) Now when your system is slow or just not connecting you have a better idea why with the unique names for each band.
