I recently replaced the mute switch on my wife iPhone 6. I got it all back together and everything is work, at least so i thought. She received a call the next day and she’s couldn’t hear anything. The internal ear speaker/receiver was not working. The external speaker worked, headphones worked, Bluetooth to the car worked. Does anyone have any ideas on what this could be??
Check if the front camera works. If not the Front Camera flex assembly needs to be replaced. iPhone 6 Front-Facing Camera and Sensor Cable Replacement iPhone 6 Front Camera and Sensor Cable
It is very hard to say exactly what could have happened. My best guess is that you may have damaged something during the repair. The earpiece cable is very fragile and is susceptible to tearing. If you replaced the screen as well, that could be a clear cause as to why it’s not working. Another scenario is if you were a little too forceful when snapping the phone screen back into the body of the phone. Or a connection shorted out, it’s really hard to say but essentially it will probably need to be replaced. If you have a spare iPhone 6, then you can test out the earpiece and see if it is just the phone itself.
