I Have Replaced The Defective Home Button With New Iphone 8 Plus

As I replace the lcd screen of my iphone 8 plus I accidentally damaged the ribbon cable cutting it off So I replace the home buttin with new but it does not do the function at all. Checked the connection and it is ok. What could be wrong?

Aftermarket home buttons typically do not function on the iPhone 7/7+/8/8+. If you use JC or HX home buttons you should be able to regain home button functionality, but Touch ID will be unavailable. Hope this helps!
