Hi, i have a mid 2010 27"core i7 iMac and although all these years i thought it was fanless, the last few days im noticing that -actually- there is a fan :-) It’s not like its making a huge noise, i can only hear it but even so it seem strange because i hadn’t noticed it before. Could it be failing? Before i open the iMac to inspect, can i check it through software perhaps? Update (10/15/2017) Does this help in some way?
When you chang the hard drive you have to address the Apple priority heat sensor or you will get a run away fan. OWC makes a thermal sensor that you need to install to stop this. Here it is: https://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/DIDI…
