Chosen Solution
I just replaced the screen assembly and the battery and WiFi worked last night but has almost no sensitivity now ( full bars within ~ 10 feet of the router but doesn’t see the network more that ~20 feet away). The cell radio almost seems to be more sensitive now. Both cameras and sound and display and touchscreen are fine. What would kill my WiFi sensitivity?

Did you maybe disconnect the antennae? They won’t entirely stop working if you disconnect them but their strength will greatly decline. One of them is right next to the battery connection and can be accidently loosened.
Have you damaged and/or disconnected the WiFi antenna?
