Laptop is 4 years old, the old battery would only run the computer for a short time. I purchased a new battery, turned the laptop off, unpluged it and replaced the battery. I let it charge pluged in to cord over night . next day I tried to turn it on but nothing happened, not one thing! I took the new battery out and put the old battery back in, because it was working fine that way before. Power cord connected, I tried to turn it on again. Nothing! Any answers?

Does it power on if you remove the battery and only have the power cable connected with no battery installed? If it does I would be checking the contact pins on the laptops side.

As David mentioned, it is possible that the pins that connect to the battery are bent or broken. Sometimes I have even seen a good amount of dust in them that makes it not connect well. I would attempt to do as David said and disconnect the battery and see if the computer turns on with just the power cord. Also, what model Samsung laptop do you have so I can research a few things for you that may help.

I have the same problem with Toshiba Sattelite L750. I bought a new battery that should be compatible with a long list of different models. When the battery is in, it shows 100% charged, but if I remove the chord the computer dies instantly. If the battery is in, it cannot start, until I remove it. So basically, my laptop is now a stationary :)

I know this is an old post, but I found it because I had the same issue. But the problem is I was plugging the battery connector upside down. Once I realized that, the laptop worked perfectly.

I had a similar problem. I let the battery charge for a while then I was able to get into the diagnostics. Once it did a full pass, it came up with no issues. Not sure you have the same situation though.

my laptop got overheated (after playing heavy games without any good ventilation) and forced to shut down twice in one day. after that, when i remove the plug, my laptop loss power and turns off. i checked the battery and it got bloated. so i bought a new battery.

after i put the new battery, (out of the box), my laptop says it’s is @ 53% power… but when i remove gain the power cord. laptop still turns off…

and my old bloated battery when plugged in has 90% charge.. and the charge never goes up anymore. but my new battery does… but both turns off the laptop if the charging cable is remove.

any solution? thanks!!! laptop is acer aspire vx15 battery AC14A8L
