When moving over the front camera ribbon cable, I tore off this part. Anyone know what it is and what not having it will do? The rest of the ribbon is intact. Whenever I replace the ribbon with another, it goes into a bootloop, the original is the only one that works. I’ve tried ribbons from multiple sources online. I’d like to just use this one as I’ve already managed to get the phone back together. The phone still seems to work.
That is your proximity sensor. Its when you put your phone up to your face when your making a call and it makes the screen go black.
