I tore up my microphone cable trying to upgrade the CPU on my 2017 27" iMac. I got a new microphone/cable. The problem now is, I do not know which side gets glued to the aluminum frame. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sadly, we don’t have any repair guides that offer any details on the microphone cables placement. The cable should already have on it double sides tape so it can be secured. The best I can offer is try to figure it out but I would need some pictures of the original cable pieces as well as you new one and the location the cable fits to in the case frame.
