I want to buy a laptop and I thought of buying it from the United States and importing it to India. If in case it gives any problem can I get it repaired here in India? Will it be convenient to buy there or buy in India itself?
Try to stick to whatever’s close to you. It wouldn’t be nice if the laptop arrived broken and you having to spend money on it without guarantee that it’ll fix, that’s not convenient
First, your relative would need to hand carry it on the flight to India. They may face an import fee which could be quite high when arriving in customs. As far as a new system, if you need warranty work that would not be possible as Dell in Inda is not responsible for repairing your system. You would need to bring it back to the states for that. The long and short of it… It really doesn’t save you any money and you do take a risk if there is a problem under warranty.
