Hello, I have a 2011 27” iMac with a dead HDD. I want to replace the drive and then resell the system. My question is, which HDD would be the easiest to install? Can I just buy this kit and replace the SSD? OWC SSD Upgrade Bundle for 2011 iMacs, OWC Mercury Electra 250GB 6G SSD, AdaptaDrive 2.5" to 3.5" Drive Converter Bracket, in-line Digital Thermal Sensor Cable, Installation Tools Or, do I need to buy an adapter or should I just go ahead and buy a HDD? Can I buy a regular Western Digital Blue 1 TB and install that? Thank you!

Here’s how to change it: iMac Intel 27" EMC 2429 Hard Drive Replacement To avoid the additional expense of an OWC thermal sensor (necessary when changing to a non-Apple drive), go to eBay and buy a used Apple OEM 1 TB drive and just drop it in. Upgrading the drive before selling, seldom adds any value.
