How long will the flash memory last without power?
Your phone has two types of memory: RAM & Flash, just like a desktop or laptop computer. If you properly shutdown your phone anything that is open in RAM will be saved to flash at which point the lifespan of the flash would to the limitation (20 or so years). If you fail to shutdown your phone then you risk corruption of anything that is open and not saved. Your phone can hold the data in RAM a few weeks with whats left in your battery if its still present. This is called deep sleep mode.
