I plan to do a body swap for an XR that has a cracked camera lens. Is it necessary for me to also swap the front cameras for the face id to work? I will be using the body from a complete XR that has never been opened or repaired. Both phones have functioning face id currently

face ID should work as long as you put everything from the cracked lens phone into the new body.

In my experience you will have to swap out both the FFC and the Face ID module in order for the Face ID feature to work.
