Chosen Solution
Hi, I recently purchased a battery replacement kit from ifixit and 4 days ago I replaced the battery on my mid 2015 macbook pro. The original battery was inflated and I didn’t want to risk it. I followed all the steps in the ifixit guide, including the steps to calibrate the new battery. Ever since, the new installed battery has been behaving oddly: It charges normally to 100% — I can see it progressing through all the percentages. When I use it unplugged, the battery drains normally until about 53%, when it jumps immediately to 7% (always the same percentage) Then it stays at 7% for about 30-40min (depending on the usage) and it drops to 1% I have redone the calibration steps 3 times, as well as reset the macbook SMC and NVRAM several times to no help. What can I do to solve this? See below screenshot requested by one of the answers to this question:
The difference is do to how the OS handles the SMC data. Apple gets it directly, CoconutBattery gets it on a poll cycle so its always a bit behind. Nothing to worry about. Well, I don’t see any issues with the battery and at this point the draw is running high. Did you add extensions to Chrome? Or running any processes which could be firing off like antivirus?
