Chosen Solution
Hi everyone. First of all, I want to set things clear with the model of my iMac: It is a Late 2015 21.5 inch iMac, Model A1418 and EMC 2833. Just wanted to clarify this, because when I set up my profile, the only configuration with the EMC 2833 is a 4K iMac, which is not the one I have. Mine is NOT a 4k NOR a 5k iMac, it is a standard 1080p with 2.8 Gigahertz i5 CPU. Question is as follows: I want to change the 1TB HDD which came with mi iMac with an SSD. Problem is I´m totally new to this world, and I´ve never opened an Apple device. I would like to change the old 1TB HDD 5400 RPM to a new 1TB SSD, so I need help with the whole process: How to disassembly the iMac, how to remove the HDD, which SSD to buy (I want a good, fast but not so expensive one), how to install the new SSD, etc. I heard that in some cases, there was a problem with the fans going crazy with SSD in iMacs, so I really need help about that, too (heard there were some thermal sensors to plug in to the new SSD to avoid that). Also, I don´t want to loose any of my HDD data, what I want is to “clone” my HDD to the new SSD. Any advice, tutorial, guide or help is really appreciated in advance. Thank you so much, guys.
In either case the process is the same! iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2889 Hard Drive ReplacementiMac Intel 21.5" Retina 4K Display Hard Drive Replacement The needed parts is the same iMac Intel 21.5" (Late 2012-2019) SSD Upgrade Kit Just be careful as you can mess up your display if you don’t follow the guide.
