I have an IMac 27 inch late 2009 with a 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. I want to upgrade the video card. What series video card can I update to ? Thank you.
Based off what I could find the graphics card isn’t your typical plug and play style. It will be a tedious job that has a few steps. Heres a step by step guide for same card replacement. iMac Intel 24" EMC 2267 Graphics Card Replacement Cards that you can put into the system as an upgrade are; ATI 4850 Card Approx $150 (used) to $400 (new)ATI Radeon 6970 Card - Approx. $200 (used) to $800 (new) The ATI Radeon 5xxx series from the 2010 should works as well, but they are very rare for some reason. For the price and convenience, I would go with the 6xxx series if upgrading.

Thank you for your response. I want to upgrade to the 6 series but from what I read the 6 series will work in the I5 and I7 processors but won’t work on the Intel Core 2 processors.
