Hi all, I have an iMac that suddenly stopped powering on. It doesn’t post or chime, but the dvd drive does make noise, but that’s about it. It was working yesterday (although the hard drive has been failing for some time) anyways, I opened it up, tried without the hard drive, tried without the RAM, tried reseating it. I also tried without the PRAM battery. Status light 1 is always on, and 2 and 3 go on after the dvd drive makes noise. Light 4 never goes on. Any suggestions?

The 4th diagnostic LED is tied to the display so if you have it disconnected it won’t lite up which would be to correct response. iMac Intel 24" EMC 2134 and 2211 Diagnostic LED’s LED 4 - Indicates that the computer and the LCD display panel are communicating. This LED will be ON when the computer is turned on and video signal is being generated. If the LED is ON and there is no image on the LCD display panel, the LCD display panel or inverter might be installed incorrectly or need replacement. If your sure you got all of the display cabled connected properly and they are working, then its tell you the T-CON board within the display has a problem or the Inverter.
