Image Not Retained For Playback Or File Nikon 5100 Camera

Shutter appears to function but there is no image retained on photo card. There is no error message .

Format the SD card (see page 22). 4.) Work through the troubleshooting guide (see pages 220-223). 5.) Lastly, restore to factor default settings (see page 58).
