A small hole developed in my 1999 JD 870 injector return line and fuel leaks out even when engine is off. Plastic line, curves along top of engine. Guessing a mouse chewed the hole. I notice the line is in sections. Area affected is about 7-8" with clamps on either end. Can this simply be replaced with a substitute length of line? If so, what are the specs? Suggested removal and replacement tips? Thanks. John
Not sure if you are referring to the return lines from the injectors or not. Check the attached image. If we both are talking about the same line, it will be in sections, since it is connecting to the return ports. It appears that these lines are not pressurized and thus you could replace it with a length of fuel line. As for the how to, and what to expect etc. you can download the service manual from here. Hope this helps, good luck.
