Purchased a battery from fixit to replace the OEM battery in MacBook Air 2015. After installation, and calibration, the battery only last for 2.5 to 3 hours before completely drained. I calibrated the battery as stated on the website multiple time and it does not seem to help the issue. Should I be getting longer battery life than that? I remember the OEM battery last couple 6 to 8 hours for normal use I use Coconut Battery to look at the battery. It looks like the battery was made almost 2 years ago, and it is only charging to 92.5% of the designed capacity.
Any suggestions will be helpful.
Make sure you don’t have something running hard or wild, open Activity Monitor app to see if something is chewing your power If you don’t see anything, I would contact iFixit to get a replacement, clearly 2.5/3.0 hours is not normal.
Get it replaced, sounds like you got old stock. This is why I don’t buy parts from ifixit, only tools.
