Hi Guys, My LED flashlight is acting up so I’m thinking I need to replace the whole volume / power / LED flash ribbon. As it’s a big job, I’ve just tried connecting the new ribbon to the motherboard to test everything - it’s not a repair I wanna make to find out something doesn’t work on the ribbon! I’ve tried 2 ribbons (from the same seller) and everything appears to work except the LED flash only stays on for between 5 - 20 seconds and then auto switches itself off… When I go back in to the Control Center the flashlight is showing as still activated. When I turn it off/on again it stays lit for a short time - around 5 seconds then powers off again. I’ve tried the ribbons on two phones and the result is the same on both. Are these faulty ribbons or do they need to be in-situ in the phone for the LED to stay lit when activated? Just wondering if something needs grounding etc. I appreciate any help! Thanks, M
I just checked mine and it stays on way longer than a minute. My guess is that it would stay on until the battery discharged. So, why does yours turn off? My hunch is that your LED is bad. As it heats up, the LED fails and turns off. I’d look to replace that part next.
