Hi My iPhone 6 plus seems to have touch disease, except it is also experiencing ghost touches. It also does not and never has the infamous gray bar. If its simply a touch screen problem the I will get it repaired or diy, however it seems that a repair of the touch disease issue might cost more. Anybody able to confirm what the issue may be?

We can’t confirm for sure what the issue is until you have done the following:

  • Installed a known good screen or at least a good quality screen, and used the iPhone for a while to confirm that the issue is gone or not. I personally believe you have a failing screen and not touch disease because ghost touch very seldom happens on the 6+ due to board failure. It does happen, but not very common compared to other symptoms.
  • If the new screen did not solve it, you may be very unlucky and have gotten a failing replacement part; OR simply you could have touch disease.
  • Sometimes, you have both. Meaning touch disease (board level failure) AND bad screen. Often because drops or sitting on the phone while in your pocket - that caused the board to fail also caused the screen to start ghost touching and failing. The repair can be a bit expensive at board level, and may not be worth it at this time (in my personal opinion) because the iPhone 6+ is so much prone to bending and flexing that it is developing a number of failures after 3 years of use and abuse. Among the most common you have touch disease and cellular service failure. Hope my answer has helped a bit.
