I have dead mbp 2015 early retina 13 and good mbp 2013 retina 13. I believe internal SSD in mbp 2015 is not damaged. Can I boot the 2013 mbp using internal SSD taken from the 2015 mbp? Both models are reffered as A1502 and use PCIe SSD. SSD itself is interchangeble but I wonder configuration file might be problem. I tried OWC enclosure but cannot mount the SSD, maybe because of encryption. I just want to take out important files from the SSD before sending it for repair. THANK YOU!!!

May not be that easy… Apple altered the drives format to APFS when you upgraded to High Sierra. If the system you are trying to use has not been upgraded it’s system firmware won’t know how to handle reading the drive. In addition, the older system can’t access the newer PCIe/NVMe Drives directly. The OWC Auroa case may not be for 2015 generation SSD as well.
