As we all know the power button doesn’t work without transferring the ic chip by the home button after replacing the screen. In iOS 10 there was an option in the display settings to disable the screen turning off when the cover was closed and that would solve the lock button issue while you tested the new screen etc. Where is that option in iOS 11, I can’t find it anywhere.
Put on assistive touch. Click on to device. Then tap lock screen. No other way!
Settings > Display & Brightness > Lock/Unlock > On (Green)
I have an iPad 4 iOS 10. In Display Brightness the only option I have is Auto-Lock with settings of 15 mins to never. No off on lock setting available
