This is sorta a follow up to a previous question I had asked.(Replaced digitizer and antennas, still searching..) None of the previous problems were fixed btw. So we were instructed to restore the ipad to factory. Now we are getting the: “Your iPad could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPad to iTUnes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes. If this problem persists, contact Apple Support at apple.com/support” What do?

I would check for damage in the flex between the main board and the cell service board

look into log files.. I think baseband temperature sensor fails working causing the part to shutdown, causing the device to reset, and so on see also Nathan Rakes post, which ist the effect caused by this

I have seen this error many times on iphones with broken baseband chip after water damage or impact damages. Itunes trying to read device’s baseband chip (IMEI number or something like that) to activate the phone. I guess same thing happening to your ipad CDMA. Baseband chip looks like not functioning. Reasons 1- If its water damaged try to clean mainboard shortcuts and resolder corroded components. 2- if it has impact damaged, using hot air on the baseband chip may bring the baseband function back. I dont know What temperature and howmany minutes. But you can google for it. Good luck …
