Right away, this is different than any other thread I’ve found. I was replacing the ipad 3 glass/digitizer. Everything seemed to be working normal, so I laid it in the frame. On final testing there was a slight phantom touch along the bottom. I reset the unit, but it did not resolve. I pulled the glass out of the frame, and it continued. I reseated the digitizer cable, and again it continued. Finally I removed the digitizer to try a different one, and noticed with no digitizer, it still was registering touches and swipes. Does anyone know what I might have done, and how to fix this? The zif connectors for the cable are undamaged.
Did you check the zif connectors for dust or dirt?
It’s the connector. Digitizer ghosting on multiple screens, plus ghosting with no screen = connector. If even one of the gold keys that makeup the connector get bent this can happen Replace connector to solve
