Hi All, I have been tasked to fix my aunt’s iPad Air 2 screen with some backlight issues. However, I don’t know whether this is a fault of the screen or the motherboard. I know bad backlight diodes/ICs will cause a problem similar to this, but the iPad is also bent on the side where the problem is occuring. Can someone tell me whether this is a problem with the screen or motherboard so I can buy the right parts? Thank you in advance.

Was it ever dropped? That first picture that shows the gap on the side looks like a swollen battery. I’m not sure that will help the light issue, though. But if the battery is swollen, you need to replace it before continuing to use/charge it. Swollen batteries are fire hazards.
