hello , i got the same problem with my i pad air 5 where screen stays black after digitizer replacement. funny thing my battery was disconnected during replacement. any ideas? i tried reseating clips, home button and off button hard reset old digitizer also not working. I pad is detected by iTunes and when i connected the charger the charging sound keeps beeping continuously. please advise Update (09/15/2015) I think I found the problem. does any one know what this part is called and how to go about it. my soldering skills are rubbish. is it a fuse of some kind. how could this have happened if I was wearing static band and battery was disconnected.
The backlight filter is possibly blown. I have run into on either a mini or an ipad air, I don’t remember which, a situation where I thought I had killed the backlight filter but it tested good so I put a different lcd on it and it worked. After that, I put the original lcd back and it worked fine. I never did figure out what was screwed up but it may be worth giving a try. Gotta try the easy fixes before chasing after the board work so try a different lcd first. Maybe even disconnect the battery and let it sit for 30 minutes or so disconnected and come back to it. They’re finicky.
