Question says it all, is the 3rd generation iPad mini digitizer the same as the first two, interchageable like?

No, they are not the same. Everything is the same except the finger print reader in the home button which has an extra ribbon that goes from the home button to the logicboard. So the 1st and 2nd Gen screen will not work on 3rd iPad Mini. We found this the hard way when we tried to repair an iPad Mini 3rd Gen.

iFixit lists the LCD part as compatible between the 2 & 3: iPad mini 2/3 LCD

I don’t think so, because the home flex is soldering in versión 1 and 2, but the touch on mini 3, is separated,, so that why. i think.
