I’m replacing the display assembly on an iPad Mini 4. The replacement screen doesn’t come with the sleep wake sensor so I’m looking to transfer the old one over. I’m not setup for soldering yet so I’m wondering if there is any way I can do it with a heat gun instead?
You can use heat gun to remove that sensor, but in order to solder onto the replacement screen, you need to use a soldering iron. Some companies sell replacement screen assembly with sleep/wake sensor pre-installed, see if you can return bought screen for a full refund and buy one with installed sensor from companies like MobileSentrix and InjuredGadgets.
