Sonny Dickson, I was just wondering if you tried to charge your iPhone on a AC wall charger first and see if it gets to charge that way. There is the possibility that the iPhone is drawing to much power. Just for reference, the USB port standard specifies a capability of ~400mA current for each interface.Keep in mind that USB ports do not have a lot of current at best, but practically all USB interfaces provide 2 USB ports per. So your device must require a total of less than 400mA. You could try a powered hub and see if that works. Also try some other USB devices and see if they still function on your computer. If you have no other devices plugged in at the time then that’s certainly beginning to sound like a problem with the device in question. Try, as suggested above, other devices in the same port. Also try your iPhone in another port. I am NOT a Mac person but if I remember right from reading a lot about it on here, you could probably have a look in the System Profiler to see which USB device has been disabled and that could help you determine which device has broken. If no other USB device is giving you the error, you should take a look at the dock connector of your phone to make sure that there are no broken, bend or corroded pins, try another USB cable. After that it may be the battery with its charging circuit that draws to much power. You may have to replace that.
