Chosen Solution
Hello all. I’m in need of advice as this one has me very confused. I bought an iphone 4 with a smashed screen. replaced the screen all seems well accept the phone gets a “3g” signal and an “E” signal but i have no service. Any advice would be greatly appreciated . Thanks James
ios 6 glitch. When you took it apart you unplugged the battery therefore resetting the time. When you turn it back it it will keep saying searching but in reality it does have service. Once the date and time are correct restart your phone OR Put it in airplane mode and then turn off airplane mode. After that then it will show the correct reception.
You may be in a dead zone. Have you tried restoring? If not, replace the cellular antenna.
