Chosen Solution
After repairing the front screen on an iPhone 4 from AT&T and an iPhone 4S from Verizon, the front camera refuses to work. I believe this is an iOS 7 issue. Is anybody having this issue as well after repair? I run an iPhone repair business and need to get this figured out.
On the iPhone 4 it could be that you accidentally broke off the camera capacitor. In this image you’ll see 2 silver dots above the yellow connector (http://guide-images.ifixit.net/igi/mXXSH…) Use a circuit writer pen and let it dry for a couple of hours and the camera will begin working again. The capacitor on the 4s is in a different location, but the same fix applies. Just google its location and you’ll be good to go.
