Hello everyone. I got an iphone 4s from a friend. He told me the iphone got stuck on the apple logo after updating to the new ios. I’ve tried to connect it to my PC, but the computer is not recognizing the device at all, not in device manager, itunes, anywhere. The iphone is responsive to both the sleep/wake button and the home button, but only shows the apple logo for about 10 seconds and turns off. Is it at all possible that an update could have damaged the logic board and the iphone is now beyond repair? Thank you very much in advance for any help.

Charge iPhone and then perform DFU Mode Restore with iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to Wall Charger for at least 10 minutes to charge. Then open iTunes on computer, connect iPhone to computer, hold both home and power buttons for exactly 10 seconds release power button, but keep holding home button for about 20 more seconds until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Restore the iPhone.
