So, I tried to restore my IPhone 5. Everything worked flawless, until the point “waiting for iPhone” appears. Then nothing happens for like 2 Minutes and then the Error 4005 pops up. What I’ve tried:

  • Restoring without display
  • Removing battery Should I remove other things while restoring? Is maybe a part broken? FYI: When ITunes gets to the point “waiting for iPhone”, the Apple Logo gets a little bit darker. Restoring on Windows 7 64 Bit Thanks for every tip

hi… if you already are using the latest vesion of itunes, w/ the latest ios then i think your phone has a problem.. the error 4005 along with error 4013 have something to do with the memory.. maybe your phone’s memory was full and it broke down

Try another Apple Lightning cable. Also try another USB port on your computer. Sounds like the computer is having problems trying to recognise the iPhone 5. Check the charger port if there is any blockage in there. If there is use a toothpick to clean it out. Also check for any pins that are missing inside the charger port. If there is, then the iPhone 5 charger port assembly may need to be replaced.
