I have a 5S that was dropped and the screen broke off and it ripped the touch ID cable. I changed the screen and bought a 3rd party home button to fix the phone and it works great except the battery is draining pretty fast. I bought a brand new high quality battery for it and the draining slowed down a lot but drains way faster than it should since its not being used any. I am wondering what is causing the draining to occur ? I was thinking it may be the home button since the touch ID doesn’t work that it’s draining the battery but I’m not entirely sure. Anyone know what would cause it and how to fix it if it is the home button?

I bought a used 6s with a shattered screen and home button. A local repairman replaced both with non-Apple parts. After the repair, the battery would drain in 8hrs with the phone on, even if I didn’t use it at all. The repairman took the screen off and the A9 (black square towards the top of the phone) was too hot to touch, even on standby. The repairman tried 5 different home buttons in case the part was defective, but nothing changed. What fixed it was to get a new 3rd party home button from a “different factory”. Right now the phone has been on standby for 16 hours and the battery is still at around 90%.
