Chosen Solution

Greetings, iFixit community. I recently took apart my iPhone 5s in an attempt to fix a faulty screen. When I reassembled the device I discovered that the phone would not respond when plugged in to charge. I can feel the battery heating up when it is plugged in, so it is clearly charging, although it is not vibrating or making any sounds. The screen will not turn on. I can hear the hard disk working and iTunes recognized the device, so the phone clearly is not dead. Things I have tried:

  • charging the phone overnight
  • disconnecting the battery and holding the power button
  • hard reset
  • restore If anyone thinks they can diagnose the problem, any input would be appreciated.

Have you tried your old screen or another one? Sometimes bad screens can make these phones do goofy things.
