Chosen Solution
I just did a front display assembly install and everything works fine (camera , touchID, vibrate , buttons, no dead spots etc..) except the following: It looks like the top edge is not completely flush with the metal frame like the other edges. When I gently push the glass from either top corner to try to make it flush, the screen goes black (while device remains powered-on) . In other words, I only get a picture when the top edge is not flush with the frame. Any ideas?
Upon looking closely I noticed that the ribbon cable of the replacement display front assembly had some exposed copper / is faulty (see picture)
I put back my old screen and it doesn’t exhibit the screen going off behavior
