iPhone 5s won’t restore. Says connect to iTunes, is connected starts restoring gets to 95% on the loading bar on the phone then stops and goes back to the connect to iTunes screen with iTunes showing the message ‘your iPhone can’t be updated you must restore it to factory settings’ have tried clicking restore again and it’s just keeps going through the same cycle. Any ideas please ?

Im hoping it’s not a hardware issue, but here are a few things to try.

  1. Try the rear usb ports. In my experience I have a lot of issues with front usb ports on desktops.
  2. Try another cable.
  3. Try disabling your antivirus software, if you have any. When the restore fails, you should get an error code of some sort. What is that code?
