I’m testing the charging port as my phone has a the fake charging issue and gets very hot. I’ve tested the pin on the battery terminal to the metal piece on the SIM card holder with a multimeter, apparently the voltage should be between 1.8 and 4.2 V but mine goes from 3.8 volts and jumps down to 0.3 and up again with the battery disconnected and the charging cable in. This continuously jumps from 0.3 to 3.8 so I’m wondering if I need to replace the charging port, I’ve disconnected the charging port flex from the loudspeaker while the phone is on but the same issue occurs and will just continue to get hot and lose battery fast.
Can you get apple logo with the battery unplugged but charger plugged in? If not, you have a bad tristar charging IC issue, also rapid battery drain is also another symptom of bad charging IC if battery health is reported fine using these methods: Use one of these methods to check your battery: Windows PC - 3UTools Mac OS X - CoconutBattery Using mobile app - Battery Life Also don’t put your phone in the freezer like the other guy said, the phone will just get liquid damaged inside due to condensation. Also if the battery goes flat and it wont charge after that, it’s guaranteed the tristar charging chip is at fault. To get that chip replaced it requires board level repair / microsoldering. You may be able to find someone locally in your area that offers this kind of service.
First you have to check that which parts is going hot try to find faulty parts which causes problem.
