A few months ago I bought a non certified lightning cable to use with my phone (I regret why I did till this day) and it worked perfectly for a while until it suddenly stopped charging. The battery then drained to 0% that’s when I started panicking. I tried different wall plugs and on my mac and still no difference. I then went to buy a new certified cable and brick after reading tons of articles about bad lightning cables. When I plugged my phone in it first showed the low battery icon so I left it there for half an hour or so then came back to seeing the same icon. I then tried powering the device and it showed the apple logo for a very brief moment (about 3-5 seconds) then went back to the low power icon. I did this countlessly until it eventually stopped displaying anything even after leaving it plugged in for days. I then bought a new battery and replaced it and still got no display but this time the main PMIC got ridiculously hot so I then concluded that there is a short. Due to my terrible rework skills I decided to buy a entire unlocked iPhone motherboard from eBay. After long hours trying to figure out which screw goes where I then successfully swapped the motherboards and the connected the new hardly used battery and charged it with the apple certified brick and cable. The phone repeated the events, it displayed low battery icon and the apple logo for a very short period repeatedly then eventually turned off for good b but this time nothing is overheating . I tried resetting it, charging it with my mac and resetting it while connected…everything I even replaced the LED display and the battery again. I have completely no idea what is wrong and I’d really appreciate any kind of help. P.S I also swapped the charging assembly with a new one when i replaced the LED Thanks in advance
You didn’t mention replacing the charge port assembly. If you have tried another logic board, battery and screen it is the only thing left that could be causing your problem.
