I’m on the latest iOS… so I am starting a new question. I just replaced the battery using iFixit battery kit (which was awesome!). Now, the battery health doesn’t seem to function correctly. It won’t give status of the battery in %. Before I changed the battery, the origional Apple battery showed 84% and I had a couple of crashes with warnings due to the battery. Now, I have read that even if one was to take advantage to Apple’s Battery Replacement Program, this issue would still happen on the Apple batteries. There must be some ‘reset’ function in the OS to get the proper reading on the battery… What is it?
iFixit says that on their replacement batteries they do not support the battery health reading so it’ll show up like that in the image. The worn out original battery with shut down problem can be replaced by apple and the same shutdown issue should not occur once the battery has been replaced. If the phone works fine I would not worry about the battery health feature.
I’ve got the exact answer for this case! I have an iphone 6S and it showed that battery status ‘SERVICE’ and maximum capacity 39%, although I changed old battery to a new aftermarket battery(by Nohon). Another NORMAL battery(Not showing ‘SERVICE’) can help this situation.
- just connect NORMAL battery
- turn on the iPhone
- check battery information (Not ‘SERVICE’)
- turn off
- connect NEW battery
- turn on / check battery info. (Not ‘SERVICE’) !!!! That’s it!!! For your happy life~~ ^^ —- by redistuo —-
