Chosen Solution
When reattaching the screen, somehow I mixed up the display data and the front-facing camera and earpiece speaker connectors. Of course the display cable didn’t want to stay in the camera/earpiece spot, but I thought I had the cables in the right order. I fought to reattach the cable bracket and managed to put a hole in the display cable with a screw where it covered the screw hole. So phone will power up (connected to PC) but no display. Now what??
Unless you have good microsoldering skills, you will need to order a new display assembly.
