I am getting into the new refurbishing style with the machines and I was wondering after polarizer removal can the LCD sense my touch or can I test to make sure that the ribbon cables weren’t damaged while cleaning?
Only one way to find out. I’ve never removed the polariser, just the glass, and it works with no glass, that’s all I know. Pretty sure if you remove the polariser, you’ll struggle to see the screen? Out of curiosity, are you using LOCA or the OCA sheets?
You have to put the new polarizer on to be able to touch, swipe test lcd function, they are not expensive, you usually do not have to replace pol unless original is quite deeply scratched. You need to make sure you get quality supplies otherwise you will be struggling. It is pretty easy and it is all trial and error. You need to find the right equipment for the job, if you are pumping out screens without autoclave machine and no bubbles you are on a winner. Need the right equipment
your supplier should put you through full training, if you have bought the machines without training then expect 6 months of a high fail rate. A colleague of mine went through this, its a serious art / technique.
