Hi, I have a iPhone 6s here that doesn’t charge. I’m not sure if the problem is dock connector or tristar. I don’t have another dock connector or USB ammeter to test. I followed this link https://www.microsolderingrepairs.com/bl… and only measured 0.58V. Does that mean it definitely is Tristar or could it still be dock connector ? Is that even the same process for the iPhone 6s? Is there any way to check the dock connector with a voltmeter?

the phone should be drawing 5 volts to charge,  as long as the charger is of a good quality it should be drawing that, there is a small USB sized meter you can buy which shows you how much power is being drawn through the lead to the phone, if its considerably less than this through the mains and a good quality lead and plug then I would consider backing up the data and getting a new device, we fix all sorts of parts in phones at work all day and if it fails this test we don’t even attempt to fix them. for price it would cost and effort you could get the same phone for a cheap price.
