I recently replaced my iPhone 7’s screen using the iFixIt Screen Replacement Kit and corresponding guide. I had the battery discharged before working, disconnected the battery, and kept track of all screws and ribbon cables. After reassembly, the new screen worked good as new, no problems whatsoever. Until a day later when listening to music, the screen suddenly cut to black with the audio still playing. I turned it off shortly after, and left it that way overnight so I could look more into it the next day. Now the phone isn’t turning on at all, no sound, no vibration, nothing. I don’t think its the backlight, because I can’t see anything on the screen even when I shine a light on it. I really hope it’s not anything major because I don’t feel like blowing another $60 on a screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Did you try charging it for a few hours and then hook it up to the computer and see if the computer recognizes the phone. Update (07/22/2020) I would try a new battery first. The phone has to have a battery that is charged up enough to turn on the phone. It doesn’t matter if the charging cable is connected, it HAS to has a charged battery to turn on. If a battery doesn’t fix it then it most likely has a short on the motherboard.
